Susan Marie
Bautista
Nov 8, 1956 — Oct 24, 2023
QUEENSBURY --- Susan Marie Bautista of Queensbury, NY (originally of the Bay Area, California) passed away on October 24, 2023, with her five children and her husband of 46 years all holding her hands.
Born November 8, 1956, in San Jose, California she was the daughter of Marshall and Margaret (Clarke) Stone.
A true fighting spirit and deep belief in God were clear throughout Susan's entire life, especially during her valiant battle against cholangiocarcinoma.
She spent her early adult life working hard whether as a beautician, seamstress, or working in sales, all while raising children and always striving to maximize time spent with family. At the age of 50, she went back to school and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification.
Serving more than 15 years as a nurse, she dedicated the majority of her career to empathetically providing end of life care to the elderly community. In her free time, she frequented a local nursing home to donate food, clothing, and holiday decorations to a beloved neighbor. Known for always standing up for what's right and speaking her mind, Susan shared her beautifully outspoken personality with all who knew her.
Undoubtedly, her most proud accomplishments were building a tight-knit family and maintaining close friendships. This included taking great joy in sharing home-cooked meals, spending quality time with her children, and talking on the phone with friends.
Susan enjoyed sewing, crafting (won many awards in this area!) and watching movies/reality TV. She had an incredible talent for making people laugh with her jokes/pranks and warming their hearts with thoughtfully chosen gifts. These gifts often inspired her children to pursue their dreams and interests.
She's touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.
Susan leaves behind a beautiful family including, her husband of 46 years (Alex Bautista), five children (James, Christina, Andrew, Michael, Alicia), and two grandchildren (LaJaune Bonds Jr., Alexander Bautista). She is survived by her brothers (Robert, Dave, Marshall, and Thomas Stone), her daughter-in-law (Tammy Bautista), and her pet (Paco Bautista) as well. She was predeceased by her mother and father (Margaret M. and Marshall F. Stone) and siblings (D. Michael and Joanne Stone).
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Glens Falls on Wednesday, November 8 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
The family shares a special thanks to Nate and Stef Bedore, Nicole Vance, Kathy Stanislowsky, Kait and Matt Hickey, Nancy Kreis, the Shevlin Family and the staff of Insane Games, Zach and Aliea Hammel, and Cheyenne Robinson for their in-person support.
In loving memory of Susan, and to honor her fight against cancer, contributions may be made to Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation .
Condolences may be sent directly to Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804, or through www.bakerfuneralhome.com.
