Sylvia H. Dougher's Obituary
Queensbury --- Sylvia H. Dougher, 95, of Sunnyside East, Queensbury, passed away Tuesday May 5, 2015 at her home.
Born Feb. 18, 1920 in Queensbury, she was the daughter of Closson and Florence (Kirkpatrick) Hewitt.
She retired in 1975 from the Town of Queensbury, where she had served four supervisors as secretary / bookkeeper.
She was a member of Sanford's Ridge United Methodist Church, Queensbury Senior Citizens, North Country Chapter 3891 AARP, and Warren County Historical Society.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Craig.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 74 years, Thomas L. Dougher of Queensbury; a daughter, Darleen Dougher of Queensbury; three grandchildren, Wendy Hatch and son, Benjamin, of Waterville, Maine, William (Amy) Dougher and their son, Dylan, of Colts Nick, N.J., and Meghan Dougher of Queensbury; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
As per her request, there will be no calling hours and Sylvia will be privately laid to rest at Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send a remembrance in her name to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220, or American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Ln., Latham, NY 12110.
