Terry LaPlanche, born on December 19, 1956, died Saturday, April 15, 2017 of a sudden heart attack at his home in Whitehall, New York. Terry died happy, with no regrets.

Terry was the son of Ernest and Bernice (Fuller) LaPlanche.

Terry was known for his big smile, loud voice and willingness to help anyone.

Terry was raised in Queensbury, New York, having attended Queensbury High School where he was an outstanding athlete. Terry played football and wrestled for coach LaBombard.

After high school, Terry played football for the Green Jackets and was an accomplished boxer under the guidance of Teamer Lazure.

Terry worked for DA Collins and Kubricky Construction Company for many years, having recently retired. He was a "bull" of a worker and enjoyed working for the company.

After his retirement, Terry had his daily breakfast at Historic Grounds Diner in Whitehall, New York where he engaged fellow patrons and employees in daily arguments, as an avid Trump supporter.

Weekend lunches were a regular event at Papa's Diner in Queensbury, New York with his good friend Bill Montgomery.

Terry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking and outdoor photography. A favorite summer day would be cooling off on the upper Hudson River in Warrensburg.

Terry treasured his long time friendships with Mark Hughes of Fort Ann and Sherri and Jimmy Mercurio of Hudson Falls.

There is no doubt Terry will miss seeing his son Matthew LaPlanche strive in his many endeavors. Terry would often talk about Matthew's recent travels, workout routines and future plans.

Terry's daughter Laura LaPlanche recently gave birth to Terry's first grandson.

Terry was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Bernice LaPlanche, his sister Karen Loveland and his brothers Joe and Frank LaPlanche.

Terry is survived by his son Matthew LaPlanche, daughter Laura LaPlanche and her son Quinn, and his two brothers Larry and Ernest LaPlanche.

Calling hours are scheduled at the Baker Funeral Home located at 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury, New York 12804 Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a service following the calling hours.

On Terry's nickel and request, a breakfast will be held for family and friends on Saturday, April 29, 2017 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Historic Grounds Diner located at 142 Main Street, Whitehall, New York 12887.

Terry would like to thank all of his friends for the good times they shared with him.
