QUEENSBURY -- Theodore C. Wood, III died on June 3, 2015 at his home in Queensbury, NY. He was 87.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Ted was born on November 15, 1927 in Port Chester, NY, the son of Phillip and Catherine (La Point) Scoville.
Ted was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and loved his succession of German short hair pointers, all named Fritz. He also was active in the American Theater Organ Society, making recordings on the "Mighty Wurlitzer" theater organ installed in his home.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Wood, of Queensbury; sisters, Harriet Wood Bennett of Columbus, North Carolina and Barbara MacKenzie-Wood of Pittsburgh, PA.; a brother, George Robertson Wood of Lincolnshire, Illinois; nephews, David Thwaite of Peekskill, NY, Paul Thwaite of West Bloomfield, MI, Charles W. Fleischmann of New Canaan, CT; and niece, Megan O'Brien of Columbus, North Carolina.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11 at Baker Funeral Home in Queensbury followed by a service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Laura Mitchell, of the West Hebron United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
