BALLSTON SPA --- Theresa M. Griffen, 51, of Galway Rd., Ballston Spa, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 1:20 p.m. surrounded by her loving family after a long, well-fought battle with small cell lung cancer.
Born Feb. 9, 1961 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Earl L. and Betty M. (Merrihew) Galusha.
Theresa was a very special person who will be missed every day by many. Some of her enjoyments included camping and being outside in her backyard. Her grandchildren were her world, seeing them almost daily. She also loved spending time with her dog, Rachel Ray.
Survivors include her loving husband of 30 years, Shawn Griffen; her daughters, Cindy and her boyfriend, Rob, and Salina and her husband, Bruce; her son, Bill and his wife, Caity; 8 grandchildren that she loved and adored, Evelyn, Joshua, Connor, Natasha, Jake, Molly, Daisy, and Ava; her niece, Sarah; a brother, Ted and his wife, Robin; her beloved uncle George; her mother-in-law, Eleanor; many dear friends; and her beloved dog, Rachel Ray.
At her request, there will be no calling hours or memorial service.
Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside ceremony Wed., May 30 at 4 p.m. at Powell-Wiswall Cemetery, Plumber Rd., Ballston Spa, with the Rev. Allen Rudnick, pastor of Ballston Spa United Methodist Church, officiating.
A celebration of Theresa's life will immediately follow in the place she loved the most – her backyard – at 3461 Galway Rd., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
