Queensbury, NY - Thomas W. Bodkin passed away on February 23, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital with loved ones at his side.
Born on March 20, 1948, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of John and Eleanor (Duggan) Bodkin. Thomas graduated from Bishop Timon High School in 1966 and earned a degree in engineering from Erie County Technical Institute in 1968. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He began his career with Conrail as a planning engineer. Following Conrail's acquisition and transition to CSX Transportation, he continued in the same role until retirement.
He married the love of his life, Sheila Hand, on March 6, 1971.
Thomas had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. He liked golfing, taking cruises, and especially spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his brother, James Bodkin, and his sister-in-law, Marlyn Bodkin.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila of Queensbury; his children, Jennifer (Philip) Mance of Queensbury, and Cynthia (John) Bodkin of Indiana; his grandchildren, Owen Edwards, Joshua Mance, Luke Mance, and Zachary (Ashley) Mance; his great-grandchildren, Payton (Jay), Natalie, Hunter, Chayse, Bryce, and Braelen; his sister, Mary (John) Greber; his brother, John Bodkin; his sister-in-law, Naureen Bodkin; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
A private burial will be held at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
