HARTFORD --- Thomas Albert Boisvenue, 64 of Hartford, NY, known to his family as Butch, and friends as Tom or Tommy B, died at Glens Falls Hospital on November 7, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He is predeceased by his parents, Albert Boisvenue, And Verna (Mohan) Boisvenue.
He is survived by his siblings, Suzanne and Sally Boisvenue, of So FL, John Paul and wife, Virginia (Nieidermeier) Boisvenue of Pittsburgh, PA, Kara (Boisvenue) Little and husband Brooks Little of Concord, NC; stepmom Joan (Peters) Boisvenue, Concord, NC; step siblings Lori Hoyt and husband Jay Hoyt, of Hartford and Tommy LeBarron and wife, Lorraine of Concord, NC son Jason Thomas and wife, Jesse (Cook) Boisvenue; 3 grandchildren and his longtime girlfriend, Pam Rivers.
Tom was born in Middlebury, VT and moved to Hartford, NY at 10 years old, where he resided most of his life.
At 14, he took and traded one of his mother's puppies, unbeknownst to her and traded it for a guitar. He quickly learned to play and sing, he had a beautiful voice. As a lover of country music and aspiring musician he became a local entertainer at 16, performing in various venues that include The Riding High Ranch. He eventually wrote, music and had the privilege to record in Nashville with Easy Country. He played in many bands, Traveling Light and Sonny Thompson and the Mavericks to name a couple.
An excellent horseman in youth, rode in many gymkhanas with his pie eating horse, Frisky.
Tom had many occupations, musician, police officer, driver for CBI, worked in agriculture and owned a farm in Argyle.
He loved to cook, garden and spend time observing nature. He was most passionate about his many dogs. He found comfort and unconditional love with his Rottweilers, Sonny, Niko, Tater, Zoe, Fatman and Abby, as well as 6 others he left behind, and many before, (Bear will always be his number one pup), always putting their needs in front of his own.
Tom, a very gentle and kind soul, always said he was a simple man, didn't need much and didn't want much.
Per his request, he declined services. He will be cremated, and his ashes will be spread near his mother, in Vermont, next summer.
