QUEENSBURY - Thomas L. Dougher, 101, of Queensbury, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 at his home surround by his loving family.

Born January 9, 1915 in Jeryman, Pa. he was the son of the late James and Marie (McDermott) Dougher.

Thomas was a Navy Veteran serving in World War II.

He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 1797, AARP North Country Chapter 3891, Queensbury Senior Citizens, and Bay Ridge Vol. Fire Co.

For many years Thomas worked at Finch Pruyn until his retirement in 1978.

Along with his parents Thomas was predeceased by his wife of 74 years, Sylvia (Hewitt) Dougher, his son, Craig Dougher, and his brothers, James Dougher of Queensbury, Patrick of Scranton, Pa., Joseph of Fort Ann and Robert of Queensbury.

Survivors include his daughter, Darleen Dougher of Queensbury; three grandchildren, Wendy Hatch of Waterville, Maine, William (Amy) Dougher of Virginia Beach, Va., Meghan Dougher of Queensbury; and two great grandchildren, Benjamin Hatch of Waterville, Maine and Dylan Dougher of Virginia Beach, Va.; his brother, Raymond of Scranton, Pa.; daughter-in-law, Martha Dougher of Maine; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As per his request, there will be no calling hours and Thomas will be privately laid to rest at Pine View Cemetery in Queensbury.
