QUEENSBURY --- Thomas J. Healy, 83, passed away comfortably at his home in Queensbury, NY on Friday, November 3, 2023.
Born March 11, 1940, in New York, New York, he was the son of the late Thomas F. and Winifred (McNulty) Healy.
In July of 1957, Thomas joined the United States Army until his honorable discharge in July of 1960. Upon his return, he married Margaret E. Gallagher at St. Columba Church in New York City on August 5, 1961.
Thomas retired from IUOE Local 14-14B (Operating Engineers).
Anyone who knew or met Thomas were blessed with a tale or two from him. He was a great storyteller and always had a joke or two up his sleeve to share. He proudly spoke about his past experiences and memories of when he was younger and his shenanigans growing up in Chelsea and working on the Piers. He will truly be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ellen Healy; his son, Thomas F. Healy; and his brother, Joseph Healy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Margaret E. Healy; his daughter, Joanne Healy; his grandchildren, Devin Healy, Melanie Healy, and Thomas C. Healy; his great-grandchildren, Roxanne Healy, Ella Healy, and Ethan Healy; his sister, Catherine Healy; and his brothers, Robert Healy, and James Healy.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful nurses at High Peaks Hospice who took exceptional care of him and treated him with such love and compassion. The family is forever grateful for their services. Another special thank you to the home care aides from Neighbors NY Inc. who also took great care of him. The entire team of nurses and caretakers are beautiful souls and truly love their jobs – simply angels on earth.
