Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Tom Young, age 88, passed away peacefully into the arms of his savior on August 25, 2024.

He was born on December 25, 1935, in Buffalo, New York, to Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Young.

A 1954 graduate of Sloan High School, Tom pursued higher education at Nyack College in Nyack, NY. It was there that he met and married his beloved wife, Diana.

Together, Tom and Diana dedicated their lives to pastoral ministry, serving in the Christian and Missionary Alliance for 37 years. Their ministry took them to various churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and most recently in Warrensburg, where they faithfully ministered for 22 years. Upon retiring, they settled in Queensbury, where they continued their involvement in the church community as active members of Pine Knolls Alliance Church in South Glens Falls.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife, Diana, his parents, two sisters, and one brother.

He is survived by his son, Stephen and his wife, Lauren, of Douglassville, PA; two daughters, Rebecca Winger of Mansfield, OH, and Deborah Rose and her husband, Robert, of Charlotte, NC. He also leaves behind ten cherished grandchildren, including two grandchildren-in-law.

Tom's legacy of faith, dedication, and love for his community will be remembered by all who knew him. We fondly remember his kind and generous heart, his joy and laughter, his great ability to love unconditionally but most importantly his love of his Savior, Jesus Christ. We celebrate the life we were blessed with and rejoice that even in his death he praised God and fought the good fight right up to the end.

A time of condolences and remembrance will be held at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street, Queensbury, NY, on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11 a.m.

A memorial service will begin at 12 p.m. with the Rev. William Church officiating.
