Obituary

GLENS FALLS -- Toni M. Coleman passed away Thursday morning Oct. 5, 2017 after an extended illness. She was 73.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1943 in Ticonderoga, NY, the youngest of eight children born to Salvatore and Maria (Scialdone) Pezzulo, both Italian immigrants.

Toni attended elementary school in Ticonderoga and, after moving to Glens Falls, attended St. Mary's Academy, graduating in 1961. After graduation, she was employed at the Post-Star newspaper for 34 years. She went on to become a teacher's aide at St. Mary's-St. Alphonsus Regional Catholic School in the Noah's Ark pre-school program, which she considered, personally, most rewarding.

Toni's happiest times were spent attending her sons' sporting events and concerts, Broadway musicals, and especially the amazing yearly vacations spent with the entire family on Bald Head Island off the coast of North Carolina. She also spent a memorable week in Madrid, Spain, in 1999, with her husband and sons visiting her son, Michael, while he spent a year-abroad in Spain from Skidmore College. Her years as a volunteer at St. Mary's Church food pantry brought her much satisfaction.

In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brothers, O'Neil, Joseph, and Ted (Salvatore) Pezzulo and sisters Catherine D'Amato, Josephine Wheelock, and Carmela Pezzulo.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Leo Coleman of Glens Falls, and four sons: Peter (Lana) of Raleigh, NC, and Michael, Ted, and John, all of Glens Falls. She also leaves her beloved, precious grand daughters, Reilly and Reagan of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her sister, Sister Mary Agnes of the Order of Poor Clares in Barhamsville, VA., her very-dear sister-in-law, Rosalie Pezzulo, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Monday, Oct. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury NY 12804.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church on Warren Street in Glens Falls.

Burial will follow at the Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Street.
