QUEENSBURY --- Valerie Alane Hess of Hudson Falls NY, aged 54, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, June 26, 2025, after an unexpected illness.

Valerie was born in Cape May Court House, NJ and graduated from Saranac Lake High School in upstate New York in 1989.

Valerie loved riding her bike in Lake George NY, camping, picking blueberries and strawberries, and most of all spending time with her family and her best friend Stevie. Valerie always had a big heart and always knew what the people around her liked. Receiving thoughtful, unexpected gifts from Valerie was not uncommon.

Valerie is survived by her mom, Phyllis Hess; her brother, Michael Hess (Cara); her sister, Glenda Benware (Tom); her aunts, Virginia Sachleben, Jeannette Parks and Janet Dattilo; her nieces, Alana Hess and Hayley Benware; and her nephew, Matthew Benware.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Hess.

Valerie's permanent memorial will be at Head of the River Cemetery in Estelle Manor, NJ. She will be buried next to her Mom-Mom, Gertrude and Pop-Pop, Henry Hess who she loved so much.
