QUEENSBURY --- Valerie A. Smith, 64, of Needle Park Circle, Queensbury, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at Glens Falls Hospital, with her loving husband by her side.
Born Aug. 24, 1947 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Gertrude (Baker) Lansing.
Valerie graduated from Warrensburg Central School and married Dale Smith on June 10, 1978. She retired from Glens Falls Hospital after 34 years of dedicated service, and most recently worked for Neighbors New York as a patient companion.
Valerie enjoyed sports, especially rooting for the NY Giants and NY Knicks.
Her parents have predeceased her.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Dale E. Smith of Queensbury; her feline special pal, Heidze, and many friends.
Friends may call upon the family Saturday, May 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury. At her request, those attending may wear casual attire.
A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dawn Robbins, pastor of Hudson Falls United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Warrensburg Cemetery on Hudson St.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in loving memory of Valerie, to C. R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital, 102 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801, or to a charity of one's choice.
