GLENS FALLS ---Viola M. Martindale, 92, of Ogden St., passed away Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born Dec. 28, 1923, in Nells, Vermont, she was the daughter of Rosie (Larose) and Henry Reynolds.
Some of her enjoyments included jigsaw puzzles and word searches. Above all, Viola loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Viola was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Otis; a daughter, Joyce Keays; and a son, Norman Martindale.
Those left to cherish her memory are four daughters, Glenda (Alan) Wadleigh, Beverly Whiting, Arlene Austin, and Gwen (Wayne) Thomas; one son, Bascom Elms; son-in-law, David Keays; sixteen grandchildren, Christine (William) Cummings, Robert (Theresa) Whiting, Melinda (Richard) Cook, Shawn (Gina) Elms, James (Debbie) Austin, John (Kim) Austin, Pamela Austin, Valerie (Mark) Vadnais, Tammy (Brett) Washburn, Terry Keays, Kimberlee (Rob Phelps) Keays, Maeghan (Chris) Smith, Rachel and Heather Thomas, and Joshua and Katlin Wadleigh; 26 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; special friend, Shamous Kelly who was her "adopted son"; longtime friends and neighbors, Howard and Christa Chandler; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will take place Nov. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will take place Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Church, pastor of Pine Knolls Alliance Church, officiating.
Interment will follow at Bay St. Cemetery, Glens Falls.
Pall bearers include James Austin, John Austin, Josh Wadleigh, Terry Keays, Shamous Kelly, and Blake Martindale.
The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Chaudry and the nurses at Glens Falls Hospital Tower 6, for their kindness, compassion, and support.
In her loving memory, contributions may be made to High Peaks Hospice, 79 Glenwood Ave., Second Floor, Queensbury, NY 12804.
