Obituary

QUEENSBURY – Violet M. Imrek, 85, of Queensbury, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born Dec. 4, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Wilkinson and Patricia (Adams) Boynton.
Violet loved doing her crafts at home and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She volunteered at Glens Falls Hospital twice a week, where she knitted hats and booties for newborns and made hundreds of teddy bears, given out by Emergency Room and Hospital staff.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Porta; granddaughters, Linda Freeden, and Patty Onks; grandson, Dan Onks; and great-grandchildren, Kayla and Johnna Freeden, and Adrian Onks.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 9, at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joseph Busch, Pastor of Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, officiating.
Interment next to her husband, will be private at Long Island National Cemetery.
