Obituary

GANSEVOORT --- Virginia C. Baldwin, 97, of Fortsville Rd., passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021, after a brief illness.

Born March 6, 1924, in Fort Edward, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Edith (Marshall) Chapman.

Virginia graduated with honors from South Glens Falls High School.

Following High School, she went to work at the Glens Falls Insurance Company and later as a bookkeeper for her family's business, Baldwin Bros. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

On March 31, 1946, Virginia was married to her beloved husband, Derwood Baldwin, until his passing on March 25, 2004.

For the last 65 years she was a member of local congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses in the Glens Falls/Saratoga Springs area, enjoying many long-lasting friendships among fellow witnesses.

Virginia found the most satisfaction and enjoyment from volunteering in a Bible educational work as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Giving her time and energy to talk to others about her faith and hope for the future brought her great joy. She always loved to be with her family-her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. And one thing she really liked was chocolate!

In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her brothers Paul, Douglas, Charles Jr. and James Chapman; her husband, Derwood (Dar) Baldwin; grandson, Eric Mayer; granddaughter, Kailee Gannon; and son-in-law, James McDonald.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Becky (Dwight) Mayer of Ballston Spa, Darlene Gannon of Hudson Falls, Ginnie Baldwin of South Glens Falls, Penny McDonald of Queensbury, Wendy Norton (Lyle) of Pasco, WA, Dar Baldwin of Queensbury and Drusilla (Regan) Krueger of Gansevoort; grandchildren, Jared, Tyler Mayer, Torrey Gannon, Anissa Zajac, Brishen Pipenur, Celine Estes, Larissa Mickel, Zachary Flewelling, Reannon Pasco, Larry Pasco, Nathanael Norton, Janessa Norton, Alexandra Baldwin, Talia Krueger, Savannah Krueger, Afton Krueger, Quade Krueger and Kalyca Krueger; great-grandchildren, Abbey, Evan Mayer (Kate, mother), Wyatt Mayer, Bella Mayer, Kylie Gannon, Avery, Emma and Everly Zajac, Declan and Connell Pipenur, Brandon, Chase, Rowan and Piper Estes, Tyrel, KJ, and Aiden Mickel, Gavyn Flewelling, Isaiah, Cadence, Neveah, Emma, Elijah and Lavinah Pasco, Kaylee Keech, Brodie Stearns, Kiah Farmer and Tilly Brevick; also several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held via Zoom on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 3pm. The Meeting ID: 867 8016 0894  Password:229032
