FUNERAL NOTICE UPDATE - A graveside service for Walter "Pat" Wood will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Warrensburg Cemetery.
WARRENSBURG --- Walter C. Wood, 80, passed away March 1, 2017 at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing Home in North Creek.
Born Sept. 2, 1936 in South Bay, N.Y., he was the son of the late Clayton and Minnie (Davis) Wood and raised by his grandparents, Walter and Pearl (Parker) Davis.
Walter graduated from Warrensburg Central School and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Walter spent time working with Davis Construction, Howard Larose Construction, and Warrensburg Highway Department.
Some of his enjoyments included camping, hunting and fishing, snowmobile riding, and NASCAR races.
In addition to his parents, Walter was predeceased by his wife, Ethel (Moffitt) Wood, a step-daughter, Alice Frasier, brother, Arthur Morehouse, and sister, Irene (Wood).
Those left to cherish his memory are two children, Dona (Chris) Geroux of Warrensburg, and Iona (Albon) Harrington of Warrensburg; a sister, Evelyn (Howard) Tucker of Johnsburg; brother, Cassius Morehouse of Warrensburg; his Uncle David (Rebecca) Butler of Thurman; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will take place Friday, March 10 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.
A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Walter's uncle, the Rev. David Butler, officiating.
Burial will take place in the spring at Warrensburg Cemetery.
