FORT EDWARD --- Wenona A. "Pokey" Smith, 80, of Fort Hudson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Edward, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 17, 2013.
Born May 31, 1933 in North River, she was the daughter of the late William and Clara Smith.
Wenona was a very loving and happy person. She was loved by all who knew her, and always had a smile for everyone. She also had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed family antics. She will be forever our special angel.
Left to cherish her memories are her two sisters, Joyce Redmond of South Glens Falls, and Evelyn Thomas of Glens Falls; one brother, David Smith of Fla.; along with many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with High Peaks Hospice Chaplain Steve Smith officiating.
Burial will also be private and at the convenience of the family on Cemetery Road in North River.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Fort Hudson and High Peaks Hospice, with sincere appreciation to Kelly of High Peaks for all her support and kindness.
