West Hartford & Newington, CT - On Thursday, August 31, 2017, Wesley E. Webster, 82, was called to eternal life peacefully at Hartford Hospital. Born in Diamond Point, NY on September 20, 1934, he was the son of the late Earl & Pearl (Denton) Webster. He served our country in the US Army, and during the Korean War in the US Navy, and was a life member of the American Legion Post 574 in Hudson Falls, NY. In his younger years, he worked as a butcher and chef and served his community as a volunteer fire fighter. Prior to retirement, he was a district manager for the Jewel Tea Company, giving many years of dedicated service. Later in life, he learned to play the mandolin and had an affinity for good Blue Grass music.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Anne (Brodeur) Webster in 2011 and siblings Douglas Webster, Henry Webster, Aletha Fish, Conroy Webster, Sylvia Moffitt, and Marlyn Webster. Left to honor and cherish his memory are his daughters Mary–Kay Webster of New Britain & Elizabeth W. Kunsey, her husband Stephen of West Hartford and grandson, Ian Kunsey. Along with his siblings Delbert Webster, Nancy Belden, Martha Kilburn, Charles Webster, Linda Bennett, and Debbie Stevens, all of NY State, and many nieces and nephews. Wes' family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation for the residents and staff of Brookfield Chatfield for their kindness and friendship.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call for visitation on Wednesday, September 6, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, CT.
Calling hours will take place Friday, September 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 9, at 11:00 AM at Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, Aviation Road, Queensbury, with the Rev. Joseph Busch officiating.
Interment with military honors will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Luzerne Road, Queensbury.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Newington Volunteer Ambulance Fund, 71 John H. Stewart Dr., Newington, CT 06111.
