Obituary

QUEENSBURY --- Wilford "Willie" Tucker, 82, of Aviation Rd., passed away unexpectedly at his home Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016.

Born Feb. 28, 1934 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Gilford and Ruth (Aldrich) Tucker.

For many years, Willie worked as a foreman for the City of Glens Falls Water Department with the "Mountain Crew."

He was a member of West Mountain Community Church and for many years served as a trustee.

Willie loved ice fishing in his younger years and collecting roadside relics he felt someone could use was a favorite pastime. He was always available to his nieces and nephew when they needed a hand.

He also enjoyed visiting his pals at Bob Clark's Junk Yard and his daily visits to Kerrie's Northway Diner. The family wishes to thank them for all their kindness they showed their uncle over the last few years.

In addition to his parents, Willie was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Bennett, and a brother, Donald Tucker.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Calling hours will take place Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 from 3 to 5 p.m. at West Mountain Community Church in Queensbury.

A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Flossie Gage Bates officiating.

A graveside service will take place in the spring at Warrensburg Cemetery.
