Obituary

QUEENSBURY, NY—William C. Bergmann, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021.  Mr. Bergmann was born in Troy, NY to the late Charles W. and Mary T. Bergmann on October 9, 1944.

Mr. Bergmann was raised in Troy and graduated from Sacred Heart School, Catholic Central High School and Hudson Valley Community College.  Mr. Bergmann then continued his education at Husson University in Bangor, Maine, receiving a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.  Upon graduating from Husson University, Mr. Bergmann was employed by the Marketing Department of the Mobil Oil Corporation and retired from the DAS Corporation of Lawn, PA in 2007.

For 50+ years, Mr. Bergmann was involved in the Boy Scouts of America.  He was an Eagle Scout, Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.  Mr. Bergmann was a member of the Executive Board of the Governor Clinton Council.  Serving his country, Mr. Bergmann was a member of the United States Army from April, 1968 until January, 1970.  Mr. Bergmann achieved the rank of Sergeant.    Mr. Bergmann served in Vietnam and while in the Army was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Bronze Star Medal.  Mr. Bergmann is a member of The American Legion, The Vietnam Veterans of America, The Disabled Veterans of America and the Benevolent Protection Order of Elks.

Mr. Bergmann is survived by his wife, Mary Ann T. (Patregnani) Bergmann, his sons, William C. Bergmann, Jr.  (Vickie) of Lone Tree, CO and by Scott. W. Bergmann (Candee) of Mechanicville, NY.  He is also survived by his brother, John J. Bergmann (Nancy) of Crooked Lake, NY.  Mr. Bergmann is also survived by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father and mother, he was also predeceased by his sister, Mary Elizabeth.

At the request of Mr. Bergmann, there will be no services from the funeral home.  Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY with Military honors.
