HUDSON FALLS --- William "Bill" A. Holman, Sr., 68 of Main Street, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 with loved ones by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 5, 1949 in Whitehall, he was the son of Wilbur Holman and Grace Peterson.

Bill graduated from Whitehall Central High School.

In 2005, Bill married June Holman, and they spent many wonderful years together.

He worked for Scott Paper for many years until it changed ownership, then he worked for the Post Star until he retired.

Bill enjoyed fishing, shopping, long rides with his family, baseball, NASCAR, and betting horses.

He had a sarcastic sense of humor with a big heart and a zest for life. He was truly an amazingly strong man who will be dearly missed by all of those who loved him.

Bill is predeceased by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are wife, June Holman of Hudson Falls; his children, R. Scott Rock (Tina), David Rock, James Rock (Jennifer), Michael Rock (Betsa), Deborah Smith (Rodney), Lisa Holman (Todd), William Holman Jr. (Reshada); as well as several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

At Bill's request there will be no formal public services.

There will be a private gathering at a later time.
