Obituary

Queensbury --- William "Bill" J. Morris III, 73, longtime resident of New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 12, 2020 with his loving family by his side.

He was born January 26, 1947 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, the son of the late William J. and Eleanor (Evans) Morris Jr.

Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and Navy Band before being honorably discharged.

He was a Past Master of Clinton Lodge No. 203, an Illustrious 33 rd Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Northern New Jersey, where he served as a Past Commander and Chief, and a member of the American Legion.

In Bill's retirement years he was a driver for Washington County EOC, transporting the elderly to doctor's appointments, dialysis and errands. His clients became friends and he lightened many hearts with his jokes and smile. His jokes, his laugh, and his mischievous smile will be missed by all of us.

Bill loved visiting with everyone, especially his family and friends. He is going to be missed deeply by his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was so proud of all of them.

Survivors include his loving wife and best friend of 17 years, Iris R. Morris; his children, William J. (Sharon) Morris of Middletown, N.J., Kim (Erol) Borluca of Easton, Penn., James R. (Gina) Mitchell of Fort Ann, Christopher P. (Cynthia) Mitchell of Hartford, and David J. Mitchell of Glens Falls; his grandchildren, Tyler, Cassidy, Madison, Jacob, Noah, Jadyn, Adam, Aaron, Hannah, David, Gavin, Airyanna, and Kelob. Also surviving William are his aunts, Anne Mainwaring and Joan Evans, both of Pennsylvania and his Uncle Walter Evans of Delaware, as well as many cousins.

A graveside ceremony, with military honors, will take place 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.

Friends are invited to join Bill's family Sunday, February 16, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. for a potluck at Hartford Fire House.
