Warrensburg -- William "Bill" John Steininger, 66, of Library Avenue, passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 20, 2014 at his home, where he resided with his son.
Born, February 3, 1947 in Syracuse, he was the son of the late William John Steininger Sr. and Blanche (Jarvis) Steininger.
Bill was a "Master Carpenter" and built many homes throughout the northeast. He loved the outdoors and could be frequently found motorcycling, 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, boating, hunting and fishing during his younger years.
Bill spent many a day enjoying his friends at his family's owned "Wayside Inn" playing pool and celebrating.
Bill was predeceased by his parents and recently by his twin sister, Betty Ackley.
Bill is survived by his son John William Steininger, with whom he resided and his nephew, Chip Aldrich.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4p.m. Saturday, January 25th at Maynard D. Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette Street Queensbury. A funeral service will be conducted at 4p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Annette Vredenburg officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, T.N. 38105, to help cure cancer and provide children with care.
