Queensbury, NY – William F. Keenan Sr. peacefully passed away at home on March 20, 2026, with loved ones at his side.

Born on October 9, 1937, in Beacon, NY the son of Thomas and Margaret Bradley Keenan.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy 1955-1958.

Bill worked for the New York State Department of Corrections for over 30 years. He rose through the ranks of Corrections and retired as Deputy Superintendent from Washington Correctional Facility. He most recently, proudly, volunteered with Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard.

Along with his parents he is also predeceased by his brothers, Edward, Thomas, Joseph, and James, and sister, Margaret (Sullivan).

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Catherine M. Keenan of Queensbury; his children; Denise O’Herron of Greenfield, William Keenan of Albany , Kathleen (Scott) Lombardo of Hopewell Junction and Thomas Keenan of New Mexico; his step children, Vinny Willeburgher of Middletown and Scott Willeburgher of Wilton; his grandchildren, Siobhan, Kasey, Shannon, Joseph, Brittney, Nicole, and Gina, Tyler, Ashley, Alex, Matthew and Joshua; great grandchildren, Keely, Kenzie, Kendra, Cash, Colt and Stanton; his brother, Frank Keenan of North Carolina ; and many nephews, nieces and friends.

An interment with military honors will take place in the spring at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
