SALEM --- William Glen Mitchell, age 74, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at his home following his battle with cancer.

Born on May 7, 1945 in Glens Falls, N.Y., he was the son of Roger and Doris (Slider) Mitchell.

In 1976, William enlisted in the United States Army, and served his country until his discharge on February 7, 1980.

He worked as a millworker for Commonwealth Plywood in Whitehall, N.Y.

In addition to carpentry work, William loved woodworking, fixing cars, and building various other things. He also enjoyed watching cartoons, with his favorites being Foghorn Leghorn and Yosemite Sam.

William is predeceased by his parents, Roger and Doris Mitchell.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, William S. Mitchell, Scott W. Mitchell, and Keisha Ann Mitchell; his grandchildren, Selena Marie Mitchell, Jacob Scott Mitchell, and Alexis Marie Mitchell, Gavin Ray, Patrick Ray and Ariel; his two brothers, Dennis and Don Mitchell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his adorable dog, Lexi.

Services will be private to the family, including a graveside with military honors at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
