QUEENSBURY --- William "Bill" Joseph Rivett, 69, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born April 28, 1948 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Arthur Joseph and Mary Jane (Donaldson) Rivett.

He graduated from Glen Burn High School, in North Dakota.

Bill married Vicki Rivett on September 4, 1971.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force on April 7, 1971, and spent four years serving active duty, followed by 12 years in the Reserves.

For many years, Bill was a mail carrier and a certified day care provider.

Some of his enjoyments included spending time with his family, taking vacations, and playing cards. He also enjoyed his 1976 Chevy pick-up, and taking it to car shows with his son, Christopher. Bill also loved burnouts and the excitement of driving fast.

Bill was a member of Glens Falls American Legion Post No. 233 on Cooper St.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Mary Jane Rivett, and his two Saint Bernards, Walker, and Dalton.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Rivett; his children, Christopher Rivett and his wife, Nancy, and Jeffrey Rivett and his wife, Jodi; grandchildren, Andrew Rivett, Elizabeth Rivett, Katlyn Wilbur, Timothy Wilbur, Jeremy Baker, and Kate Baker; great-grandchildren, Angelina Rivett, Andrew John "AJ" Rivett, Cecelia Hammond, Aiyonna Gay, Laurel Gay, Briar Gay, Elijah Wilbur, and Noah Germain; and a sister, Sandra Rivett, of St. Petersburg, Florida, also nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Calling hours will take place Friday, November 24, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. the funeral home with Deacon Bill Bazinet officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871.
