Obituary

QUEENSBURY | William L. Wadsworth Sr., 77, of Mallory Ave., Queensbury, passed away Friday, May 20, 2016, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born March 27, 1939 in Caldwell, he was the son of the late Steven and Lula (Morehouse) Wadsworth.

He served as Private First Class in the U.S. Army from March of 1956 until he was honorably discharged November of 1957.

On June 30, 1984 he married his love, Rose M. Benson in South Glens Falls.

William was a retiree from Scott Paper.

Riding his Harley was one of his many enjoyments, along with golf, fishing, hunting, camping, boating, and horseshoes.

Along with his parents, William was predeceased by his sister, Christine Dunkley.

He was survived by his loving wife, Rose Wadsworth of Queensbury; his children Carl Moffit of Brant Lake, William Wadsworth Jr. of South Glens Falls, Dennis Wadsworth of Wilton, Tina Foglietta of Lake George, Brenda Dickinson of South Glens Falls, Wednesday Wells of Hudson Falls, Marlo Merrithew of Gansevoort, Matthew Wadsworth of Queensbury, Jeremiah Plumley of Hudson Falls, Lisa Ladd of Glens Falls; 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two more on the way; his sisters, Shirley Nash of South Glens Falls and Milly Moffit of Warrensburg; brothers include Art Wadsworth of Texas, Ernie Wadsworth of Gansevoort, Milfred Baker of Wevertown, Pat Morehouse of North Carolina, Michael Baker of Johnsburg, David Baker of Bakers Mills, and George Baker of Florida; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his pets, Lulu and Buddy.

Calling hours will take place Tuesday, May 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home, 11 Lafayette St., Queensbury, NY 12804.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25 at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Gross of New Beginnings Church officiating. Patriot Guard Riders of New York will attend the funeral service of this fallen American hero as invited guests of the family.

Burial with military honors will follow at Pine View Cemetery, Quaker Rd., Queensbury.
